Foreign Buyers Forge New Ties at UP International Trade Show

At the third edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) in Noida, foreign buyers are turning their eyes to India’s handicrafts, textile, and engineering sectors. Over the first two days alone, participants signed more than 250 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs.120 crore.

Delegations from Kazakhstan, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic participated for the first time, exploring export opportunities and potential contracts. They showed interest in machinery, home décor, textiles, and digital applications.  An Egyptian home décor importer noted surprise at the organization and quality of exhibitors; he's already in talks with six suppliers.

African nations also made their mark. A buyer from South Africa closed a deal for embroidered apparel, while a Tanzanian delegate explored AI-driven products, herbal items, and cosmetics.  The show included over 520 foreign buyers this year, giving Indian exporters access to new markets and increasing global exposure.

Organisers believe this edition’s international diversity is a strong indicator that UPITS is positioning itself as a major platform for textile export opportunities. New country delegations from Guatemala, Congo, and Benin also attended, signaling fresh demand and potential for Indian brands abroad.
